MY TOP 12 FAVORITES FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY

TORONTO, ONTARIO

Can’t believe we are already in March!  Don’t know about you, but here in Canada we are counting the days for Spring. We are anxiously waiting for warmer weather and for more sunlight! But before gearing into the new season, I am sharing today a round-up of my favorites – what I loved the most during the month of February.

FOR THE HOME

I am starting the round-up with Linnea’s PERSIAN LIME candle, which is one of our all-time favorites. Persian Lime- with notes of vetiver, neroli and lime- is such an uplifting, clean scent! I have been lighting my candle daily as part of my morning ritual. But before lighting the candle, I always trim the wicks with this CANDLE WICK TRIMMER(FULL SET HERE) which has completely elevated the whole experience. Another favourite scent is SUNDAY, with hints if Neroli, mandarin and bergamot. Reminds me of sunny days in Provence, France.

For Valentine’s Day we had an amazing array of delicious baked goodies in a DELUXE TREAT BOX from Toronto’s @sugarfairykitchen. OMG! It was packaged so prettily and the goodies were to die for!  Plus, by ordering this box, we support a local business: a win-win! Another treat box is coming up for Easter… so you can guess what we will be enjoying soon!

We also tried a couple of new sparkling wines- we love our bubbly over here! But sometimes we don’t finish the bottle, so this CHAMPAGNE STOPPER  came in handy. It has been a game changer! So well priced and such great quality!

WELLNESS AND SELF CARE

This year, I am focusing on self-care and part of it is reading more inspirational books. I just finished Gretchen Rubin’s THE HAPPINESS PROJECT and it is excellent. It’s an easy, uncomplicated read that has inspired me to embrace the small things in life and reminded me of the importance of having fun.

Eating better and taking care of my health is also important to me. As we age, we lose collagen in our bodies, so adding ORGANIKA  ENHANCED COLLAGEN to my morning coffee has been beneficial not only to my joints but to my skin, hair and nails. This Canadian brand has a fantastic range of wellness and health products worth exploring.

Another dimension to my self-care quest is the focus on products that are good and effective for my 55 year old face and body. I recently had the opportunity to test out Vichy Laboratories serum: LIFTACTIV SUPREME H.A.WRINKLE FILLER SERUM. This two-in-one hydrating serum is good for both the face and eyes.  It’s formulated with a trifecta of anti-aging ingredients:  Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C and Peptides- all blended into Vichy’s mineral rich Volcanic Water. Hypoallergenic and free of parabens, fragrance and colorants, this powerful serum will now be part of my regular skincare regime.

Another favourite in the skincare department, and a fairly new launch for Vichy, is the LIFTACTIV B3 TONE CORRECTING NIGHT CREAM WITH RETINOL. Oh yes, definitely a very effective product containing pure retinol, peptides and niacinamide to reduce the appearance of dark spots, even the skin tone and stimulate collagen production. Wash your face at night, apply the cream and wake up to radiant and renewed skin. Shop the night cream HERE and HERE. And don’t forget, you can use it in tandem with their Liftactiv Niacinamide Serum for even more efficacy! Shop the duo HERE.

A recent discovery- and one that had me running all over town looking for it- is Maybelline’s SKY HIGH MASCARA. For all the ladies out there… yes, get it!! It truly is deserving of its TIK-TOK fame. Although, my favourite daytime mascara of 2024 was definitely the TOWER 28 – Make Waves Lengthening and Volumizing mascara. This mascara won the ALLURE award for “Best in Beauty” and for good reason! Easy to use- with a wand that works well for hooded eyes. And it does not irritate my eyes! This mascara does exactly what it advertises.

RANDOM

I cannot talk about social media without mentioning this very interesting article in Harpers Bazaar about MARTHA STEWART. She is considered by many to be the first and true Influencer… a real trailblazer! I have been a following Martha since the 90’s- purchased her books and housewares, watched her shows, etc. Reading this in-depth article has shed some new light on her life and career.

RECIPES

And last but definitely not least, this is the recipe I prepared every single week of the month: ASIAN STYLE GREEN BEANS WITH CASHEWS. It was that good and so easy to do! It is now among one of my family’s favorites.
