AN EASY AND CHIC AUTUMN OUTFIT

FASHION BASICS TO ADD TO YOUR CLOSET

This look has been a “throw on and go” that has served me well this season. It’s casual, chic and polished. My go-to outfit when in a pinch! And the best part is that with a few adjustments, it transitions very well for Winter.

KEY ELEMENTS FOR THIS OUTFIT

All the elements of this outfit are the perfect wardrobe staples: versatile, classic and good quality. Furthermore, all are easy to mix and match with existing pieces in your closet. In my opinion, they are must-haves and a great addition to your wardrobe. Plus, they come at a great price point, too.

FAUX-LEATHER PANTS

A game changer this Autumn has been the faux leather pant. Whenever I want a casual but chic vibe, I swap my jeans for these. And voila! A polished and elevated look. These faux leather pants are available in either a straight leg (perfect for us gals with wider calves) or a slim leg. They also come in gorgeous neutrals.

A BASIC BLACK KNIT

A classic, good quality black turtleneck or crew neck knit is a must. My favourite ones are always from ZARA, especially the ones that have the gold buttons on the sleeve. That detail adds a special touch and sparkle to an otherwise neutral outfit.

A WARM AND STYLISH SHACKET

This long shacket from Dynamite clothing is a new favourite. I’ve had it for the last two months and always enjoy finding clever ways to mix it up with my existing pieces. It is warm and cozy and comes in three different colours. For those of you who prefer a more fitted look, this shacket comes with a nice, long belt to cinch that waist!

LOAFERS

Loafers are such classic staples. Trendy for the last year with a thicker sole and embellishments, this style is still going strong this season. The LEAH loafers from COACH are such a good value for your money. They have that trendy thicker sole- but not to the extreme- so they will always remain a classic. The branding is quite subtle, which I love. They have great aesthetic and timeless appeal.

A POP OF COLOUR BAG

Come Fall, I gravitate towards deep colour in my handbags: dark reds, burgundy, hunter green, mustard. Colourful bags are a key accessory that elevate any neutral look. However, a good classic black, dark caramel or cognac bag is totally perfect, too.

TRANSITION THIS OUTFIT TO WINTER

Depending where you live, this outfit can be worn well into Winter. But for us here in Canada, we might have to do add a few more elements and swap others. When temperatures drop, I will add a TUQUE, a SCARF and gloves. Swap the loafers for ANKLE BOOTS, CHELSEA BOOTS or these HEELED BOOTIES.
