Nothing says Summer to me like a delicious, refreshing and easy-to-sip cocktail. A good coconut water drink brings me back to my beloved Honduras and vacations spent at my parents beach house in Tela -on the Atlantic Coast- where we would enjoy fresh, raw coconut water on the daily.
TELA BEACH, HONDURAS
Steve and I try to go back and visit often, but when we can’t, enjoying these coconut water cocktails is as close as we get to that tropical feeling right in our own backyard.
We love these drinks because they incorporate pure coconut water which provides a smooth texture and is much lighter than the coconut cream that is typically found in most cocktails.
The three recipes I am sharing with you today have a short ingredient list and minimal prep time. They can be modified quite easily to suit your taste.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Coconut water is the clear liquid found inside the coconut shell
- Its taste is light and slightly nutty. However, coconuts are nut-free. They are part of the drupe family, so it is safe for those with nut allergies
- Pure coconut water is extremely hydrating. It is full of electrolytes and minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron
- It also does wonders for your skin and hair
- A bonus: Coconut water is low in calories, carbohydrates and sodium
I hope one of these delicious coconut water cocktails makes its way onto your patio table this Summer.
Cheers! Or like we say in Spanish… Salud!
