TORONTO, ONTARIO
My hubby and I truly enjoy drinking rosé, not only during the summer (who can resist?) but all year long. Since I love to cook and pair my wines accordingly, we are forever in the hunt for the ideal one that can be both enjoyed alone and with the meals I prepare.
Steve knows how much I love my rosés, so he hunts these babies with so much passion. Lol! His latest find- Legado del Moncayo Garnacha Rosé by Isaac Fernadez Seleccion- has been a hit! He bought the full case from the folks at WINEONLINE.CA. So, let me tell you more about this truly delicious wine.
Legado del Moncayo is a bright, full-bodied rosé produced from the red grape varietal GRENACHE, one of the most planted varietals in the world. It comes from the Campo de Borja region in Spain – from vines that are 10 to 20 years old. It is fermented and raised in stainless steel and bottled with a screw cap. Also, do check out the pretty label! A beautiful water-colour drawing that matches the vibrant and bold colour of the wine and invites you to savour this great tasting rosé.
FLAVOR PROFILE
- Fruity: Nose of red and black raspberries and red cherry
- Spice and pepper tones
- Smooth
- Crisp and dry
- Long-balanced finish
FOOD PAIRINGS
- Charcuterie Board: Bread, cured meats and hard cheeses
- Roasted vegetables and light meats
- Pizza
- Paella
SERVING TIP
Don’t drink your rosé too cold. Ideal serving temperature should be around 8-10 degrees. Why? Because the aromas and flavors will be at its best at this temperature. So, plan ahead and take it out of the fridge 15 minutes before serving. You won’t regret it!
Priced under 20$, I consider this rosé one of the best values from Spain. I guarantee you this one will be a crowd pleaser at your next barbecue or dinner party… Or just perfect by itself- to enjoy with friends on your porch or patio.
Cheers! Or like we say in Spanish… Salud!
