Sometimes you put together an outfit, you try it on and you feel like “gosh, this is so me!” This is exactly how I feel about this layered Fall look.
Autumn is my most favorite season and layered looks are my go-to when the cooler temperatures hit. This outfit is classic, chic and age appropriate, but the star of the show is this pair of snakeskin ankle booties in cream and brown. They are the only pattern and focal point of my look, giving my otherwise neutral outfit some texture, a bit of an edge and a touch of fun!
I am obsessed! My pair has a modern and very stylish square-toe, which makes them chic, classic… and very me. Plus, they are super comfortable!
HOW TO WEAR SNAKESKIN PRINT AFTER 40
- Keep the look tailored and classic
- Wear your snakeskin with dark wash jeans or with neutrals
- Avoid wearing snake print from head-to-toe
- Avoid tight fitting clothes in snakeskin
- Opt for booties, loafers or sneakers instead of thigh-high boots
- If you are still not fully sold on the pattern try a wallet, a scarf or a handbag with some snakeskin detail (such as piping, a top handle or a strap)
- If your style is more minimalist, try a python snake pattern in a solid colour
Steve and I took my mom to a tour of MALIVOIRE, one of our favourite wineries in the Niagara region. We arrived late in the afternoon and began our visit with a walk around the vineyard. It was a crisp Fall day and I have to say that the golden hour in this serene and beautiful vineyard was magical. We topped our visit with a wonderful wine tasting experience. They have excellent wines but my favorite is LADYBUG – a high quality VQA rosé. Not only is this rosé delicious but it comes from a vineyard that is certified sustainable both in its farming and winemaking techniques.
Win-win if you ask me!
